Decorating for the Holidays doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to deck the walls with the customary red and green combo, the truth is, Holiday decorating should be a fun and festive way to celebrate to season without interfering with your own personal decorating style. Whether it is formal or casual, traditional or modern, you can definitely add a cheerful flair to your space while keeping your style intact.

Creating a warm, inviting and festive holiday atmosphere is easier than you think. Start with bringing the outdoors in by incorporating natural elements such as evergreen, eucalyptus, pinecones, sticks and branches, berries, and nuts into your home. For a beautiful statement try filling a vase with berry covered branches; display cinnamon sticks and pomegranates in clear jars and bowls for a natural yet festive touch; and think of adding a twist to your flower arrangement by mixing traditional eucalyptus and berries with red and pink hued flowers such as roses.

Bring the warmth in by stuffing baskets with cozy and textured wool blankets and fill your home with beautiful scented candles for a festive fragrance. Remember that there’s nothing like the cozy ambiance candlelight creates, so consider trimming the fireplace mantel with votives, candle clusters or string lights. For a personal touch, display family picture cards from previous years either on the mantel, window ledges or in a large bowl. And if you’re not planning on using all your Christmas tree ornaments, consider displaying them for a joyful touch.

Don’t forget that Holiday time usually means more time spent entertaining our guests in the kitchen so don’t forget to decorate or add a cheerful element to every space in your home, even if it’s small. From the kitchen to your living room, give each space a festive yet stylish Holiday vibe.
