Between the ages of 5 and 10, children's
imaginations are fired by everything that surrounds them, from
the simplest of toys to the most popular cartoon characters. It
is often at this stage that children first show interest in
creating their own space. Help them brighten up their bedrooms
by using their favourite colours.
Think of a theme of
some kind—for example, an animal, character or sport that your
child particularly likes—and then choose a focal colour related
to that theme. Other shades can then be used in bedding and
accessories to complement or accent the primary tone.

The cool SICO tip Always
take the height of your children into consideration,
either by placing such elements as mirrors and
bulletin boards at their level, or by lowering the
seeming height of the ceiling by painting it and the
upper part of the walls the same colour.
